Nick Kingham fanned nine, Josh Bell laced four hits and Gregory Polanco smashed his 14th homerun as the Pirates had their way with Brewers starter Junior Guerra once again en route to a 7-3 victory at PNC Park, giving Pittsburgh five wins in their last six games.
In two starts Guerra has surrendered eleven runs in only nine innings to the Pirates, while in his other 16 starts he’s enjoyed a 2.44 ERA. Tonight the Pirates combined for twelve hits and seven walks and jumped on Guerra for three runs in the bottom of the first.
Everybody was hitting the ball hard as Corey Dickerson lined a double to right and Starling Marte lined a single to left to put runners at the corners with no one out.
