There’s no way around it: the Pirates postseason hopes are going to have to go through Chicago and Milwaukee. The two clubs have finished 1-2 at the top of the division the last two years, and the Cubs hoisted a trophy in 2016. While the Pirates went 12-7 against the Brewers in 2018, they have had lost more than they won against the Cubs each year since 2015. To be the best, you have to beat the best.
While the Pirates haven’t made many offseason moves, one in particular could help them against these two teams: Lonnie Chisenhall.
