The Pittsburgh Pirates placed Bryan Reynolds on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain prior to Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins. Jake Marisnick was activated off of the 60-day IL to take the place of Reynolds. To make room on the 40-man roster, Cam Vieaux was designated for assignment.
Reynolds was injured in the middle of yesterday’s game and was originally listed as day-to-day. With the All-Star break coming up a week from now, it makes sense to be cautious with any injury, since part of his missed time will be days off. However, there is no word on the severity of the injury, so he could be out longer.
