Billy Hamilton's walk-off single in 10th gives Reds 4-3 win over Pirates

CINCINNATI — The Pirates were treated to a walk-off 4-3 loss Monday night at Great American Ball Park when the Cincinnati Reds’ Billy Hamilton singled to right field in the 10th inning off right-hander Daniel Hudson, scoring pinch-runner Arismendy Alcantara from second base.

The pinch-runner Alcantara entered after Tucker Barnhart walked with one out. He advanced to second base when Hudson threw away a pick-off attempt, reaching scoring position. It was another rough finish for Hudson, who allowed five runs and recorded one out Sunday.

Until extras, all runs came via the home run. Andrew McCutchen had one, Cincinnati native Josh Harrison had two — his first career multi-homer game — and Adam Duvall slammed a three-run home run in the sixth that briefly put the Reds ahead before Harrison’s second solo shot.
