Bechtold’s Core Four: Make a move Pirates, before it’s too late

Welcome to Bechtold’s Core Four, where I preview four Pittsburgh Pirates topics, events, or storylines worth following this week. In this weekly feature, we’ll discover what you would keep an eye on as the week progresses in the world of the Pirates and Major League Baseball. Let’s go.

Score Runs

It’s easier said than done, but it shouldn’t be THIS hard. The Pirates scored 14 runs during their six-game homestand. Derek Shelton’s offense scored four, one, one, three, four, and one run during a 3-3 span. Paul Skenes delivered seven strong innings of one-run ball and eight strikeouts and gave him NOTHING to work with.
