CINCINNATI — Austin Meadows hit one home run in his first 32 games with Class AAA Indianapolis this season. In his first four games since the Pirates called him up, he has hit two homers and has six hits in 15 at-bats.
Certainly, the law of small numbers applies to Meadows’ promising production. Still, his early success is noteworthy, especially considering the pressure of a highly anticipated major league debut and the more advanced pitching he’s facing.
Meadows is shining under the lights. And — literally — are those big-league ballpark lights to thank for Meadows’ early success?
