Chris Archer was in obvious discomfort Tuesday night as he attempted to warm up for the second inning, but it was not so obvious for Clay Holmes who replaced Archer and proceed to allow just one hit in the next three and two thirds innings.
As announced during the game, Archer was having problems with his right shoulder. Later it was learned that Holmes was suffering was left quadriceps discomfort.
In their place, the Pirates recalled right-handed pitchers Dario Agrazal and Parker Markel from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Agrazal, joining Pittsburgh for the fourth time this year, has made eight previous major league starts, with a 2-3 record and 4.
