Aramis Ramirez leaves game with groin tightness

DENVER — Third baseman Aramis Ramirez left in the fifth inning of the Pirates' game against the Colorado Rockies tonight with tightness in his left groin.

Earlier in the game, Ramirez, 37, drove an RBI triple off the center-field wall for his first triple since Aug. 2, 2014. A .252 hitter this season, Ramirez had run-scoring hits in three consecutive games, including a solo home run in the Pirates' 9-3 series-opening win Monday.

Ramirez, acquired in late July from the Milwaukee Brewers, has said he will retire after this season. He signed with the Pirates as an amateur free agent in 1994, was traded away in 2003 and returned in a trade prior to the trade deadline this season.
