A Chicago Cubs fan and his son, trying to have "a good time" with Pirate fans, changed a sign across the street from PNC Park Tuesday afternoon from "BUCS" to "CUBS" by walking into a business and changing the letters around.
The son posted a picture of the switch - which only lasted about 10 minutes before employees in the building noticed it - quickly went viral, with 10s of thousands of views on Facebook and Twitter and attention from both Chicago and Pittsburgh media.
"It was just for fun. Just a prank," said Steve Mpistolarides, a Cook County sheriff's police officer who lives in Chicago and drove to Pittsburgh on Tuesday to watch tonight’s game with his wife, Shawn, adult son, Travis, and Travis' girlfriend, Richelle Cavanaugh.
