We’ve been waiting for this all season, and at last, the Cardinals have hit a slump. They’ve lost 8 of 10 and are having a really awful weekend in Cincinnati, after dropping series at home to the Pirates and Cubs. And as a result, the division race that some were quick to call over is now a very real race again. The Cards still have an edge when you look at the schedules – this will be a very challenging next week for the Pirates – but finally St Louis seems to be somewhat vulnerable. And if the Pirates can just keep the deficit within a couple by the time that last homestand rolls around…there’s a chance.
