The so-called “best sports weekend in history” turned out only to be one of the busiest in history.
Granted, Game 7 of the NBA playoff series between the Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night was a thriller. What might forever be known as the Chris Paul Game included the LA star, on a bum hamstring, willing the star-crossed franchise to a series victory against the Western Conference’s modern colossus and made for the type of back-and-forth clash that’s all too rare in The League these days.
