In today's look into Pirates trade rumors and news, two names have been added to the Pittsburgh Pirates' list of potential trade targets when it comes to strengthening the bullpen.
Per Shanna Rose of iSportsWeb, "Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune noted that the Buccos had a scout in Boston watching Andrew Miller and starter Felix Doubront. Neither Miller nor Doubront will fix the back end of the bullpen but they would help solidify it."
Miller would actually be a pretty solid coup for the Pittsburgh Pirates' bullpen if his current metrics for 2014 are any indication. His 4.83 K/BB ratio is almost double his career-best, and the nine-year veteran's 2.23 ERA and 0.991 WHIP also stand as the best of his MLB career.
Doubront, on the other hand, has struggled mightily this season. His 5.17 ERA continues his five-year trend of ERAs of 4.32 or over, making him a risky pitch-to-contact acquisition if the Pirates decide to look his way.
