The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have re-signed forward Chase Berger to an AHL contract for the 2020-21 season, the team announced on Wednesday.
Berger, 25, played in his first professional season this year with Wilkes-Barre. The Penn State alum skated in 53 games, primarily centering the third line, and scored one goal and nine assists. He missed a month of the season with a shoulder injury and was four games into his return before the AHL suspended its season due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Since the shutdown, Berger has been working out from home with the help of Wilkes-Barre's strength coach.
