Who will be the Penguins' final two cuts?

The Penguins are close to having their 23-man opening night roster finalized, with just 25 players remaining in training camp.

But in this case, unlike what Sheryl Crow once said, the last cut may be the deepest.

The Penguins have until Tuesday to choose the final two players to send down to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and there are a number of factors in play to determine who they will be.

Realistically, Jay McClement appears to be a strong candidate to be released from his professional tryout. Greg McKegg seems to have seized the upper-hand in the battle for the vacant center job, and because McClement is on a PTO, the Penguins can part ways with him at no cost.
