What exactly happened to Sidney Crosby on Monday?

A week after sustaining the fourth concussion of his NHL career, Sidney Crosby fell hard and headfirst into the end boards at 17:47 of the first period during Monday’s 5-2 Penguins loss in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at PPG Paints Arena.

It looked bad, with Crosby slowly getting to his skates and looking dazed as he finished his shift.

After the game, details on what happened remained murky.

In an interview that aired on NHL Network, Crosby reportedly said he was evaluated for a concussion.

“Yep. Yeah. Pretty standard,” Crosby said.
