It seemed appropriate that Penguins coach Mike Sullivan wore one of his Stanley Cup rings during Saturday’s postgame press conference.
In addition to the past two seasons, Sullivan was 2 for 2 during a 3-2 overtime win over the New York Islanders at PPG Paints Arena.
Sullivan took Carter Rowney and Matt Hunwick out of his lineup and replaced them with Conor Sheary and Chad Ruhwedel, respectively.
While Sheary didn’t score a goal, he also wasn’t on the ice when one was scored, either – a stark contrast to the five Rowney was on for Thursday in Boston, in just 8:06 of ice time.
