The first big event to hit the WBS Penguins this past week took place on March 1, with the NHL trade deadline. There were two things to watch: 1) How any trades consummated by the parent Pittsburgh Penguins would affect WBS, and 2) Just who would be on the AHL roster at the time of the deadline, 3 pm EST, which determines eligibility for the AHL playoffs.
One of the trades pulled off by Pittsburgh at the deadline, a fourth-round pick in 2018 for Mark Streit, had no effect on the AHL Penguins, but the other sure did.
