WBS Update: AHL follows NHL’s lead, temporarily suspends 2019-2020 season

It was only a matter of time, I suppose, with the National Hockey League, National Women’s Hockey League, National Basketball Association, and multitudes of NCAA tournaments (in addition to so many other professional leagues) shutting down due to the outbreak of COVID-19 spreading across the United States.

Today, the American Hockey League joined that list. In a brief statement released just now:

The way forward is completely unknown at this point. Will the rest of the regular season be scrapped in favor of starting the playoffs with the standings as they are?
