The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman David Warsofsky from his LTI conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Pittsburgh also re-assigned defenseman Steve Oleksy to WBS.
Warsofsky, 25, suited up for four games this week for WBS, his first action since suffering a concussion against the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 17 when he inadvertently collided with one of the referees in the neutral zone.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Warsofsky has appeared in 12 NHL games this season for Pittsburgh, scoring his first goal as a Penguin on the power play during a 5-2 defeat of Columbus on Dec.
