Tyler Biggs didn’t ask to be a first-round draft pick in hockey-obsessed Toronto.
He is asking for a fresh start in Pittsburgh.
Biggs, who was packaged in the July 1 trade that brought superstar Phil Kessel to the Penguins, will not skate this week at the Penguins’ development camp at Consol Energy Center. He’s still recovering from surgery on his Achilles tendon.
When he does skate again, it will be with a singular goal: to shed his past and start fresh.
The Maple Leafs drafted Biggs No. 22 overall in 2011, and fell short of the billing that followed.
