Normally, I’d save a recap like this for the end of the week, but it’s not every day you see a goaltender score a goal.
In fact, before today’s school day game between the WBS Penguins and the Springfield Thunderbirds, it had only happened 13 times before in the history of the American Hockey League.
Then this happened.
Just 14 seconds before that, with WBS up 3-0 but killing a penalty and with Springfield goaltender Michael Hutchinson off the ice for a sixth attacker, Joel Lowry scored his fourth of the year to bring the Thunderbirds back to within 3-1.
