Back to the Pittsburgh Penguins Newsfeed

The Penguins tweeted a photo with a request from a fan. Her phone hasn't stopped ringing since.

Signs at Penguins games are a dime a dozen. If the Capitals or Flyers are in town, spotting signs poking at Alexander Ovechkin or Claude Giroux isn't especially difficult.

But a sign asking for a kidney? That's different enough that it could go viral.

And it has.

On Saturday night, when the Penguins hosted Montreal, a member of the Penguins' social media crew spotted Lancaster resident Kelly Sowatsky, holding a neon-yellow sign: "Calling All Hockey Fans! I need a kidney! Kidney! Kidney! Gratefully yours, Kelly"

The sign also displayed Ms. Sowatsky's phone number, which is why it started ringing not long after the Penguins posted the photo to the team's Twitter account.
