The Penguins power play is clicking at an almost absurd rate

Sometimes, when Mike Sullivan and his assistants get to the special teams portion of their pregame meetings, they can’t help but laugh.

“We’d say, ‘How you do you pre-scout our power play?’ ” Sullivan said Sunday. “I’m not sure if it’s possible because sometimes we don’t even know what they’re going to do.”

He means that in the best way possible. The incomparable amount of raw talent on the Penguins’ top power-play unit has been clicking almost perfectly this season — especially recently — to give them the best conversion percentage in the NHL.

The Penguins have scored on 26.
