TAMPA, Fla. — The Penguins haven’t lost a game all month.
Impressive, to be sure, but it’s been a lot longer than that since they won a special-teams battle.
They enter their game Saturday against Tampa Bay at Amalie Arena with a four-game winning streak — and a 6-2 record in their past eight games — despite doing no better than breaking even in special-teams play in any game since Nov. 19.
Which, coincidentally enough, was a loss.
Buffalo beat them, 2-1, in a shootout that night, even though the Penguins got a man-advantage goal and snuffed the Sabres’ four power-play opportunities.
