LONDON, Ontario — Center Oskar Sundqvist is a late scratch from the Penguins’ roster for the prospects tournament that begins today at Budweiser Gardens.
Team officials said the move was made for “precautionary” reasons but did not elaborate. A replacement is expected to be named before the Penguins’ tournament opener against Montreal at 3:35 p.m.
Sundqvist split last season between the Penguins and their American Hockey League farm team in Wilkes-Barre. He had one goal and three assists in 18 NHL appearances and did not have a point in two playoff games.
The Penguins also named Casey DeSmith to replace goalie Sean Maguire on their tournament roster.
