Sullivan says Sprong's healthy scratch 'just part of the process'

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Daniel Sprong isn’t exactly used to watching one of his team’s games from the press box.

Yet that’s exactly where he was Thursday night when the Penguins took on the Kings in Los Angeles, a healthy scratch for the first time this season since being called up Dec. 30 from AHL Wilkes-Barre/u200bScranton.

“It [stinks], but you’ve got to be ready when the time comes,” Sprong said after the Penguins’ optional practice Friday in San Jose.

“When you’re not playing, you’ve got to have a good practice and make sure you’re always ready to go because you never know when you could be back in the lineup.
