Mark Streit woke up Wednesday unsure if he’d be traded before the NHL’s trade deadline.
By the time the day was over, he had been dealt not just once, but twice.
Streit started the day as a Flyer and — after a few hours as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning — ended up across the state as the newest member of the Penguins’ defensive corps.
“It was a crazy day,” Streit said in a phone interview Wednesday night. “All those things happened. Very emotional, for sure.”
His day started normally enough, going to practice with his Flyers teammates.
