The Steelers have informed veteran long-snapper Kameron Canaday that he will be released, meaning the team will go with former Duquesne University linebacker Christian Kuntz at the position this season.
The move comes as the team continues to jockey to get down to a 53-man roster by the 4 p.m. Tuesday deadline.
Canaday had been with the Steelers since 2017 and was scheduled to earn a base salary of $910,000 this season. The Steelers re-signed him in the offseason, also giving him a $450,000 signing bonus.
Kuntz, 27, will make $660,000 this season.
