The Steelers had until 4 p.m. Monday to make a decision on whether to pick up the fifth-year option on linebacker Devin Bush.
Despite not taking a linebacker until the seventh round of the NFL Draft over the weekend, the decision was the same as it was when it was reported here they were leaning toward not doing so. The Steelers declined to pick up the fifth-year option on Bush.
The move would have cost the Steelers $10.9 million for 2023 that would have been fully guaranteed for the 2019 first-round draft pick.
This marks the second consecutive year the Steelers have declined to pick up the fifth-year option on a former first-round pick.
