Sidney Crosby’s ironman streak to end tonight

The Penguins confirmed that captain Sidney Crosby will not play tonight against the New York Rangers. The club has recalled forward Emil Bemstrom from Wilkes-Barre.

Crosby was on the ice and zipping around pretty well for a player who won’t be in the lineup.

Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported Crosby is dealing with a left wrist injury and Team Canada is “cautiously optimistic” that Crosby will be able to play in their opening game at the 4 Nations Face-off in six days.
