Sidney Crosby Named a Finalist for the Hart Memorial Trophy

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was named a finalist for the Hart Memorial Trophy, which is awarded “to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team.”

All award winners will be announced at the annual NHL Awards Show on Wednesday, June 22 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

Crosby is the second Penguins player nominated for a major NHL award, joining Pascal Dupuis, who is a finalist for the Masterton Trophy.

Crosby is a two-time Hart Trophy winner, having captured the award in 2013 and ’07.

If he wins this year, Crosby will join Mario Lemieux as the only three-time winner of the award in franchise history.
