These next four days could go a long way toward determining whether the Penguins’ Christmas break next week feels like a tree stacked with presents or a stocking stuffed with coal.
Coming off a 1-2-0 road trip to Las Vegas, Arizona and Colorado, they have two games at home — against the Blue Jackets and Ducks — before a three-day break from games and practices early next week.
It’s a chance for a floundering team to get things back on track, but then again, it seems like they’ve had a couple of those in recent weeks.
“We need to find a way to put some wins together, and in the division, how tight things are, these are big games,” Sidney Crosby said.
