Sidney Crosby delivers new equipment to 7-year-old whose family's house burned down

Bennett Tauch and his family lost everything when a fire destroyed their Upper St. Clair home less than a week ago, but the 7-year-old wound up gaining a few new friends and a completely new set of hockey equipment Friday afternoon.

The Penguins invited Bennett and his father, Mike, to watch their practice at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry and afterward had captain Sidney Crosby — Bennett’s favorite player — deliver a set of brand new gear.

“Really excited,” said Bennett Tauch, who’s in his first year with the Little Penguins youth hockey program. “Awesome.
