The Ottawa Senators are fighting to hang on to a playoff spot, and they will do so short-handed.
Coach Guy Boucher said Monday that defensemen Cody Ceci and Marc Methot and forward Zack Smith are unlikely to play for the remainder of the regular season. The team is hopeful that captain Erik Karlsson can return, however.
Karlsson suffered a foot injury Tuesday and is officially listed as day-to-day.
