Here are five things you need to know about the San Jose Sharks, the Penguins’ opponent in the Stanley Cup final:
1.) Sharks defensemen Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Justin Braun have served as a shutdown defensive pairing this regular season and postseason. In the Western Conference final, they limited Blues all-star right winger Vladimir Tarsenko to two goals in six games.
2.) After serving as a backup with the Kings for two seasons, goaltender Martin Jones took over as the Sharks’ starting goaltender this season. A tall goaltender at 6-foot-4, he takes up a lot of space in the crease.
