Ryan Reaves likely a healthy scratch against Carolina Hurricanes

As Bryan Rust appears ready to return from an 11-game absence due to an upper-body injury, who he’ll displace Tuesday against the Hurricanes at PPG Paints Arena could offer some intrigue.

Although Rust is officially a game-time decision and Penguins coach Mike Sullivan never announces his lineup until warmup, it looks like Ryan Reaves will be a healthy scratch for the first time this season.

The Penguins held an optional morning skate, and Reaves took extra work — as much as 45 minutes — with Ian Cole, Chad Ruhwedel, Tristan Jarry and Matt Murray, only one of whom (Jarry or Murray) will be in uniform Tuesday.
