CHICAGO — Penguins coach Mike Sullivan has a problem. Not a bad one, mind you. He also has experience dealing with it.
But with general manager Jim Rutherford’s trade deadline work — bringing in Ron Hainsey last week and adding another veteran, Mark Streit, a couple minutes before Wednesday’s deadline — competition for the top six spots on the back end figures to be fierce.
It will be Sullivan’s job to shoehorn the right people into the appropriate roles, evaluate all of their games and award playing time based on performance.
“It will make for difficult decisions,” Sullivan said.
