Rust, Hagelin, Cole among Penguins exposed in NHL expansion draft

The most notable player the Penguins will expose to Las Vegas in the expansion draft has been public for a few days now.

But Sunday morning, the NHL released the full protected lists for all 30 teams, revealing which Penguins players will join goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in the pool of players the Golden Knights have to choose from.

The Penguins, opting to protect eight skaters and one goalie, protected:

Forwards: Sidney Crosby (no-movement clause), Evgeni Malkin (NMC), Phil Kessel (NMC), Patric Hornqvist

Defense: Kris Letang (NMC), Olli Maatta, Justin Schultz, Brian Dumoulin

Goaltender: Matt Murray

That means that forwards Carl Hagelin, Bryan Rust, Scott Wilson and Tom Kuhnhackl and defenseman Ian Cole will be exposed to the Golden Knights, as well as Fleury.
