Can you hear it? Listen closely. Do you hear that banging sound? Is it just me, or is that Sidney Crosby knocking on the door of hockey history again?
The NHL began awarding the Conn Smythe Award to its postseason MVP in 1965. Montreal/Colorado goaltender Patrick Roy is the only player to win it three times. With a terrific performance against the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the 2018 playoffs, Crosby has put himself in position not only to compete to match Roy but to become the first player to win the Smythe three years in a row.
