I have one serious concern about the ransom the Penguins finally paid Friday night after climbing over a mountain of NHL red tape to get Ottawa center Derick Brassard in a trade. I have no problem giving up Ryan Reaves. Management will tell you Reaves served his role as a deterrent to other teams taking liberties against the Penguins stars, but he hardly played. At the risk of sounding like Neal Huntington, I don’t like giving up a No. 1 draft pick and young goaltender Filip Gustavsson, perhaps the most coveted prospect in the Penguins system. But that’s hardly my main worry.
