Ron Cook: Penguins coach Mike Sullivan is a master at taking the team's pulse

I was on a Philadelphia radio station talking Penguins-Flyers after Game 1 when the show host had an interesting observation about Flyers coach Dave Hakstol.

“We’re hoping the Penguins sweep ’em so he gets fired. He has no life behind the bench. He looks like he’s embalmed.”

I laughed.

“They’ll never say that about Mike Sullivan,” I said.

I laughed again, out loud this time.

Sullivan was a little more relaxed Saturday at Penguins practice than he was in their 4-2 loss Friday night in Game 5 of their Stanley Cup playoff series against the Flyers.
