Ron Cook: A 'dynamic' Penguins group lights up the Capitals on the power play

Was it just me or did Washington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby spend much of the game Friday night talking to himself?

After each of the six Penguins goals that Holtby allowed at PPG Paints Arena, right up until the moment he was mercifully removed from the game by Capitals coach Barry Trotz with 12:01 left, he seemed to lift his mask, skate away from his net and mutter a whole bunch of nothing to nobody in particular.

Can you blame Holtby?

The Penguins are doing that to a lot of goaltenders these days.

Holtby just happened to be the latest in the Penguins’ 7-4 win, their seventh consecutive home win and their ninth win overall in the past 11 games.
