Riley Sheahan's confidence is taking off, and his offense is following

Few plays better exemplify Riley Sheahan’s recently revitalized offensive play than his third-period goal against St. Louis Sunday afternoon.

Dominik Simon forced an offensive-zone turnover, and the puck popped out to Sheahan, all alone in front of Blues goalie Jake Allen.

Rather than just fire the puck towards the net, though, Sheahan calmly faked a shot, deked around Allen and slid the puck in for his sixth goal of the season, all of which have come since joining the Penguins in a trade from Detroit in mid-October.

Recently, though, Sheahan has taken his offensive game to a new level.
