Report: Rick Tocchet a contender for Coyotes head coaching job

The Penguins may not be quite done losing pieces from their back-to-back Stanley Cup championship team.

Assistant coach Rick Tocchet is a contender for the Arizona Coyotes’ vacant head coaching position, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.

Dreger tweeted Thursday “there’s a good possibility” Tocchet could be the Coyotes’ next head coach.

I haven’t dug in on this one, but sounds like there’s a good possibility Rick Tocchet is the Arizona Coyotes next head coach.

Tocchet had previously been linked with the Sabres’ opening but stayed with the Penguins after Buffalo hired former Predators assistant Phil Housley.
