The Pittsburgh Penguins probably figure to add a forward today to their team before the NHL trade deadline hits. The hot name this morning is San Jose’s Patrick Marleau.
Marleau, 40, would be a depth add for Pittsburgh. Old guys have fared well in small doses, for every Pens’ Stanley Cup in the Sidney Crosby / Evgeni Malkin era there have been those veterans like Bill Guerin (2009), Matt Cullen (2016, 2017), Chris Kunitz (2017), Ron Hainsey (2017) to provide that steady veteran calm on and off the ice that has had real benefits cited by teammates.
