As expected, there was a ton of buzz surrounding the league for the first day of NHL free agency and the 2019-20 season, and many interdivisional moves were made within the Metro to shake up and bolster the already-tough group.

Artemi Panarin was arguably the biggest free agent on the market, and with it well known that the star Russian was adamant about leaving Ohio after his contract was up this season, the Blue Jackets tried to make one more big pitch to him in the waning hours of Sunday night.
