BOSTON — Make Thursday’s 8-4 loss to the Boston Bruins at TD Garden simply about goaltending, and it paints an incomplete picture.
The same for how the Penguins managed the puck (poorly). Or how they killed penalties (not well), played with discipline (they didn’t) or started (like a turtle out of the blocks).
Fact is, what occurred Thursday was a living, breathing and skating example that the Penguins, now losers of three in a row, are in a precarious place right now: They’re trying to out-score teams, not out-play them, and that’s a dangerous way to live.
