Pregame: Streit appears to be next man up on power play

OTTAWA, Ontario — There will likely be a Mark Streit sighting for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final on Wednesday night at Canadian Tire Centre.

The 39-year-old Streit, who hasn’t played in a game in nearly six weeks, quarterbacked the Penguins No. 1 power play at their gameday skate this morning, held at the University of Ottawa’s Minto Sports Complex.

Although coach Mike Sullivan said the lineup will be a game-time decision, there’s little reason to believe that Streit won’t play.

“It’s a big challenge,” Streit said. “I haven’t played in awhile, but I’m excited — if if I get to play — and I’m looking forward to it.
