Penguins center Matt Cullen has appeared in 74 Stanley Cup playoff games.
That’s more than Conor Sheary, Justin Schultz, Tom Kuhnhackl and Matt Murray.
Combined.
Seventy-four more, to be precise.
Fact is, the Penguins’ current roster includes nine players — Bryan Rust, Oskar Sundqvist, Derrick Pouliot, Jeff Zatkoff and just-called up Tristan Jarry are the others — who never have appeared in a Stanley Cup game.
While it’s possible that not all will get into the opening-round series, whether because of injuries or coach Mike Sullivan’s personnel decisions, at least a few figure to fill significant roles.
