Pittsburgh will host two World Cup of Hockey exhibition games on Wednesday, September 14 at CONSOL Energy Center, it was announced today by the National Hockey League and the NHL Players’ Association.
The feature game of the doubleheader will be Canada vs. Russia at 7:30 p.m. In the first game, Team North America will take on the Czech Republic at 3:30 p.m.
“Team North America” is made up of players aged 23 and younger from Canada and the U.S.
“We’re excited that our fans will have a chance to see some of the best hockey players in the world in their final exhibition games before the World Cup,” said Travis Williams, Chief Operating Officer of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
